Invitation for Community Projects in Offaly
Introduction
To celebrate Ireland’s Presidency of the European Union in July 2026, Offaly County Council is inviting community groups to apply for grants to support projects that mark or celebrate a connection with EU countries. The successful projects will showcase the best of Offaly culture, both traditional and contemporary.
The successful projects will be part of the national culture programme. Cultural activity in every county in Ireland is being supported to ensure that everyone can participate in the EU Presidency and reflect on Ireland’s role as an EU Member State.
Timeframe
The events must take place between July and December 2026.
Budget
Projects costing up to €2,500 may be facilitated, with up to 100% funding. The fund is limited and it may be a competitive process.
Offaly community groups and organisations are invited to apply for funding to mark or celebrate a connection with EU counties that relate to their place. This could include additional events in existing festivals or programmes with a European element, programming at arts centres, talks or workshops at community venues or cultural events with EU partners.
All aspects of the form must be completed, or the application will be considered invalid.
Projects MUST take place between July – December 2026.
The project must be cultural.
Existing projects are eligible if there is evidence that a European element is included.
Successful applicants must be able to prove evidence of Public Liability insurance up to a limit of €6.5 million, and if necessary, Employers Liability Insurance to a limit of €13 million.
