Offaly County Council Arts Office wish to commission a selection of cultural engagement projects/presentations which to form part of the 2024 Culture Night Offaly programme. Professional Artists from or based in Offaly are invited to submit proposals for these commissions.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are open to innovative ideas that are cognisant of the theme One Night for All. Proposals can be an individual expression or work made through a process within the community. Culture Night is a national moment, celebrating culture, creativity and the arts and seeks to actively promote the belief that this rich and varied culture is alive, treasured and nurtured in people’s lives, today and every day.
Proposals must include information of how the applicant will be present the work on Culture Night to an audience. (Friday 20th September 2024)
All work must be ambitious, original and innovative.
Proposals should demonstrate potential for inclusive public engagement.
We are eager to see ideas that demonstrate an awareness of environmental issues, whether in subject matter or methodology.
We are excited to see proposals that speak to inclusivity in audience development. If you have an idea that would appeal to lesser heard communities, consider how this might be framed within a Culture Night commission.
There will be a dedicated commission for youth audiences – a proposal that will engage audiences under the age of 25 in any artform.
Important – One of the aims of Offaly Culture Night is to engage the Offaly public in quality art experiences. It must want to be seen, heard, questioned and engaged with. We are motivated to give audiences opportunities to engage in innovative new experiences in the arts.
Culture Night is strategically funded by Offaly County Council and the Arts Council and is supported by participating groups & venues in Offaly.
