Culture Night 2022 takes place on Friday 22nd September 2023

Purpose of the grant
Offaly County Council’s Culture Night Event Fund supports the cost of events programmed for Culture Night which takes place on 22nd September 2023.
The fund is open to not-for-profit organisations, local community groups, arts, heritage and cultural groups, venues and societies. Applications by individuals must be in partnership with a community, cultural or heritage group. Assistance shall not be given in respect of commercial activities.
Culture Night is a national moment, celebrating culture, creativity and the arts and seeks to actively promote the belief that this rich and varied culture is alive, treasured and nurtured in people’s lives, today and every day. One Night for All encompasses the mission and vision of Culture Night.
Culture Night is strategically funded by Offaly County Council and the Arts Council and is supported by participating groups & venues in Offaly.
Eligible and ineligible costs
The grant can cover costs related to running of the event such as guest speaker fees, guest artist fees, arts materials, event photographer, and technical support hire. Payment of a Grant is for specific activities outlined in the application.
The grant cannot cover staffing costs on the night of the event, ongoing revenue costs, any capital costs, equipment purchase costs, charity fund raising events, cost of repaying existing debts, refreshments, publicity costs, venue hire, travel or accommodation expenses. Events / organisations that are receiving Culture Night funding through any other public body e.g. the arts council are ineligible.
Some events may not require funding, please indicate this on your application form. Events that do not require/receive funding may still be listed on
www.culturenight.ie
Applying for funding does not guarantee that your event will be funded.
Events must take place in County Offaly on Culture Night and be free of charge.
Funding Available
The maximum amount of available funding is €600. Funding is at the discretion of Offaly County Council
The grant can only be paid after expenditure of the amount granted, and the return of vouched expenses and a short report with images on the event have been completed after the event has taken place. This must be submitted by October 9th 2023 at the latest.
Conditions of Funding:
Successful applicants will be required to:
1. Ensure that appropriate insurance cover for the event is in place.
2. Ensure that, where appropriate, child protection policies are in place.
3. Ensure that the event complies with all Health and Safety and legislative requirements.
4. Ensure that events are compliant with the most up-to-date government guidelines on COVID 19.
5. Ensure that Offaly County Council and the Arts Council are acknowledged in all publicity.
6. The grant can only be paid after expenditure of the amount granted, and the return of vouched expenses and a short report on the event have been completed after the event has taken place. This must be submitted by October 9th, 2023 at the latest.
7. Notify the Arts Office in the unlikely occurrence of the event being cancelled.
